Coldplay drummer Will Champion is set to have a cameo in the third series of Game of Thrones.
It is thought that he will also play a drummer in the fantasy drama.
He is not the only famous musician to have secured a role in the series, which is shown on satellite channel Sky Atlantic in the UK.
Gary Lightbody, lead singer of Snow Patrol, also has a part in the upcoming series although his exact role has not been confirmed by producers.
Former Misfits star Iwan Rheon, Mackenzie Crook from The Office and Ed Skrein, who starred in Plan B's film Ill Manors, have also had parts confirmed for the third series.
The programme is based on a series of books by George R. R. Martin.
Past series have featured battles between powerful families in the fantasy continent of Westeros.
The new series is "very dark" with lots of blood and gore, according to Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy.
Speaking about his character, he said: "It could have a lot of laughs, it could have a lot of tears. It depends on which way you look at it and how you see my character."
There has been some criticism over the levels of sex and violence featured in the series.
Game of Thrones has been nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes and Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, has won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.
