Emeli Sande is one of the new acts announced for the Isle of Wight festival in 2013.

The singer will be joined by Ben Howard, Palma Violets and Lianne Le Havas among others.

Emeli Sande rose to fame this year with her chart-topping album Our Version of Events - she also played the Olympics opening and closing ceremonies.

She has confirmed her appearance at other 2013 festivals including T in the Park.

Already on the bill at the Isle of Wight festival are headline acts The Killers, Bon Jovi and The Stone Roses.

Other artists announced today are Laura Mvula, Hugh Cornwell, Levellers, and Young Guns, as well as Kids in Glass Houses, Tracer, Steve Forbert, Newton Faulkner and Willy Moon.

Completing the latest artist announcements are Stackridge, Imagine Dragons and The Blockheads.

The event will be on 13 to 16 June 2013 and has also confirmed acts including Jake Bugg, The Maccabees and Fun.

They will be joined by Paloma Faith, The Script and Ellie Goulding.

In 2012, heavy rain turned the festival site at Seaclose Park, Newport, into a mud bath, which forced festival-goers to sleep in their cars as traffic became gridlocked.
