Justin Timberlake to perform at Grammy Awards ceremony

Justin Timberlake has been confirmed as a performer at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony.

The singer has concentrated on acting roles recently and this will mark the first live performance on TV for some years.

He confirmed on Twitter that he would be appearing at the event on 10 February in California.

"Did you hear yet?! Been itching to get back on the BIG stage. Can't wait for this one... @thegrammys," he wrote.

Other acts on the bill include British artists Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons as well as Taylor Swift, Rihanna and The Black Keys.

Alicia Keys has also tweeted that she would be performing with Maroon 5.

Rap star LL Cool J is the host.

20/20 experience

Justin Timberlake resumed his music career this month with the release of single Suit & Tie, which features Jay-Z.

He is also bringing out his third solo album, The 20/20 Experience, in March.

Future Sex/Love Sounds, his last album, was released back in 2006 and went multiplatinum.

Since then he has starred in films including Friends with Benefits, The Social Network and In Time.

Mumford & Sons dominate the nominations for this year's Grammy Music Awards.

The British band have received six nominations for their second album Babel including best rock song and album of the year.

Jay-Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Fun and The Black Keys are also up for six awards.

Babel is the second biggest-selling album in the US this year behind Taylor Swift's Red, which was ineligible for nomination because of its later release date.

The winners will be announced in a televised ceremony from Los Angeles.
