Mumford & Sons reclaim US number one after Grammys

Mumford & Sons are back at number one in America after their success at the Grammys.

The London band sold 185,000 copies of their second record Babel last week after it won album of the year at the US music awards.

It is Babel's fourth week at number one in the United States - it spent three weeks at the top spot last October.

Other Grammy winners to have benefitted from a boost in sales include Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.

Mars, who performed at LA's Staples Centre, saw his track Unorthodox Jukebox rise from eight to three.

Country star Swift saw her song We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together rise from 12th to fourth spot on the chart after she opened the show on 10 February.

Three more Grammy Awards performers - The Lumineers, Fun and Maroon 5 - also make it into the Billboard 200 top 10.

Overall album sales last week in the US totalled 6.81 million units, up 17% compared with the week before.

Mumford & Sons are nominated for three Brit awards with Taylor Swift up for international female solo artist.
