Justin Timberlake has scored his first number one album in the US since 2006, after The 20/20 Experience sold 968,000 copies in its first week.
It's the singer's fastest selling album to date in America, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
His last album FutureSex/LoveSounds topped the Billboard 200 in 2006 with first week sales of 684,000.
The 20/20 Experience becomes the 19th fastest selling album since Nielsen began tracking US chart data in 1991.
Previous record
Timberlake has enjoyed big US chart success before, his debut album Justified sold 439,000 copies in its first seven days when it was released in 2002.
The all-time fastest selling album on record in the US remains No Strings Attached by Timberlake's old band 'N-Sync - it shifted 2.43 million copies in its first week in 2000.
The fastest selling album of 2012 in America was Taylor Swift's Red with 1.2 million.
But Timberlake has scored the fastest first week sales for a solo male artist in five years.
The singer's third studio album has already topped the official album chart in the UK, selling 106,000 copies in its first week according to the official charts company.
Justin Timberlake performed at the 2013 Brit Awards and will headline the Wireless festival in London in July.
