Lindsay Lohan fails to enter American rehab facility

US actress Lindsay Lohan has failed to check into a California rehab centre for 90 days of court-ordered treatment.
Santa Monica City prosecutor Terry White was quoted by local media in LA saying that Lohan was in violation of her probation after spending a few minutes at her chosen rehab centre.
He said: "Ms Lohan is in violation of her probation, that much is clear."
He added he was uncertain of the star's whereabouts and she now faces a possible arrest warrant.
Court case
Lindsay Lohan was given 90 days in rehab in March for charges relating to a car crash last June in Los Angeles.
She accepted a deal to avoid the case going to trial after her sports car crashed into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last summer.
She pleaded no contest to reckless driving and lying to police. A charge of obstructing an officer was dropped.
The American actress had been expected to check into a facility in New York state on Thursday, but changed her mind because it did not allow smoking.
She instead went to a centre in Newport Beach, south of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge James R. Dabney agreed to the location switch saying it "appeared to comply" with what prosecutors wanted.
It later emerged that Lohan had spent a few minutes inside the rehab centre before leaving.
The TMZ.com entertainment news website reported that Lohan would be the subject of an arrest warrant, external if she was not at her designated rehab centre by early on Friday.
