Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw records Home and Away cameo

Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has filmed a guest appearance for TV show Home and Away.

The Australian soap opera is currently shooting a new storyline with some of its main characters in London.

Breakfast show presenter Grimshaw, 29, shot his scene on the capital's streets earlier this week.

Channel 5 has not revealed anything else about his character's role in the episode, which will be aired in May 2014.

The main Australian stars of the show - Steve Peacocke (Darryl 'Brax' Braxton), Dan Ewing (Heath Braxton), Lincoln Younes (Casey Braxton), Lisa Gormley (Bianca Scott) and Bonnie Sveen (Ricky Sharpe) - have all been confirmed to appear in the special episodes.

Greg Barnett, commissioning editor for Home and Away's UK broadcaster Channel 5, commented: "Although we can't reveal much about the storyline at present I can promise fans this is going to be one not to miss.

"It's great to have the show filming these very special episodes in the UK and as a huge fan myself I'm very, very excited."
