Dancing On Ice to be 'all-star' cast for final series
- Published
The final series of Dancing On Ice is to be an all-star special featuring past finalists and contestants from earlier shows.
The ninth series will be screened early next year with ITV presenters Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley returning as hosts.
ITV announced earlier this year that it was axing the show after one more series.
So far no-one has been confirmed to appear in Dancing On Ice.
Olympic skating stars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will again train the celebrities and will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Olympic gold medal-winning Bolero routine.
Phillip Schofield said: "Viewers are in for an absolute treat this year.
"I'm over the moon we'll be welcoming back to the ice some of our very best skaters and characters from over the years."
Previous contestants who have taken part in the series include former Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas, former X Factor winner Shayne Ward and actress Samia Ghadie.
Past winners of the ITV show include Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden, TV presenter Sam Attwater, singer Ray Quinn and this year's winner Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle.
Earlier this year, the annual Dancing on Ice live tour was cancelled for the first time since the show began in 2006.
Organisers say the decision was "due to venue availability" and the tour should return in 2014.
The celebrity contestants and their professional skating partners usually perform at various venues around the UK.
