Outkast's Big Boi confirms fourth solo album release

Outkast member Big Boi has confirmed plans for his fourth solo album.

Speaking on Revolt, a US music TV network owned by rapper Sean Diddy Combs, he said: "Look out for that new Big Boi solo record coming, Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors and the next one, 'surprise!'".

Big Boi added that the upcoming reunion tour was "for the fans".

Earlier this month, Outkast revealed they would make a live comeback headlining Coachella Festival.

The other headline acts to perform at the Californian music festival are Muse and Arcade Fire, which takes place over two weekends, 11-13 April and 18-20 April.

Outkast members have been on a break since 2007

Outkast have since announced a 40-date full world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, in 1994.

They will also play another headline slot at New York's Governors Ball festival, which takes place between 6-8 June on Randall's Island.

The group's producer Mr. DJ, said they were both working at Stankonia Studios in Atlanta and added that going on tour might lead to a new OutKast album, saying: "I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle.

"We may make it back in for an album following that."

The hip-hop duo formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1992.

OutKast, famous for track Hey Ya, have not performed together since 2004.

It is yet to be confirmed if the other member of the group, Andre 3000, is also working on a solo album.
