One Direction write with Good Charlotte for new album

Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have been working with the US rock band Good Charlotte on One Direction's new album.

The pair teamed up with Joel and Benji Madden to write new material for the UK boy band.

"Great working with the Good Charlotte boys today," posted Tomlinson on Twitter, confirming the news.

"Good day today w/ @Louis_Tomlinson and @Real_Liam_Payne lotta laughs #1D #Directioners their new album is crazy. homies," wrote Benji Madden.

Joel Madden also added a photo of him and his brother posing with Payne.

Last week fellow One Direction member Harry Styles was revealed to be working with Kodaline on the band's fourth album.

The band tweeted: "In the studio with @Harry_Styles in LA writing a tune, sounds massive."

One Direction's third album, Midnight Memories, became the best-selling record of 2013 in the UK, despite only being released in November.

It debuted at number one in the chart, selling more than 237,000 copies during its first week, making it the fastest selling album of 2013.

The One Direction documentary movie This Is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock, also became the fastest selling music DVD/Blu-ray in UK history, selling 270,000 copies in its first three days on release.
