Scooter Braun unveils crowd sourcing & auditions for film

Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun has announced that he is working on a new film.

The live action version of classic 1980s cartoon Jem and The Holograms, external was announced via YouTube, external.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu and Paranormal Activity producer Jason Blum are also working on the project.

In the video, the trio announced an open casting for all ages and want people to upload audition tapes.

Braun said: "We are looking for the most talented girls and boys in the world to be in our movie - triple threats. Singing, dancing, acting we want you to be our movie star."

The trio are also crowd sourcing various other elements for the film.

Chu said: "We want to invite you into our process and help us make our movie from writing music to designing costumes to even casting.

"Whatever it is, we want you to be part of our creative team."

Jem and The Holograms is an animated show which was created in 1985.

It revolved around a regular girl named Jerrica who used hologram technology to become music superstar Jem.

Along with her band, they fought the forces of evil girl band The Misfits in order to protect a super-computer named Synergy.

A Tumblr page, external has been set up for people to offer their suggestions for the film and upload audition tapes using the hashtag #JemTheMovie.
