Amanda Bynes bong-throwing case dismissed by NY judge

A case against the US actress Amanda Bynes for possessing cannabis and chucking a bong out of a window has been dismissed by a judge in New York.
The prosecution and defence had agreed that the case should be resolved by an adjournment and possible dismissal if she stayed out of trouble for six months and met court demands.
"We demonstrated today that she was in compliance," her lawyer said.
George Shergal added: "As we expected the case was dismissed and sealed."
Bynes, 28, did not appear at the hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court.
She was arrested last May after an employer at her New York City apartment block told police that someone had been smoking marijuana in the building.
The actress was taken into custody after she threw a bong out of a window of the 36th floor apartment.
Last year the actress was put into psychiatric care after starting a small fire in the drive of a home in California - her mother was then put in charge of the star's financial and legal affairs.
In February she was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to attend an alcohol education course for three months.
She pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving with an alcohol component.
The case dated back to an accident in 2012 when she hit a police car in LA.
Bynes is known for her film roles in Easy A and She's the Man, as well as her roles on Nickelodeon television shows, including The Amanda Show, as a child star.
