Six years, three series and a questionable American spin-off after Will McKenzie first arrived at Rudge Park Comprehensive, the cast of The Inbetweeners are on the red carpet of their second film.

But although they, and the thousands of fans in London's Leicester Square, are in high spirits they're confident this is their last outing as cast mates.

"This is it, this is our goodbye," says Simon Bird.

"It's sad. This is all very poignant."

The Inbetweeners Movie, which came out in 2011, became the highest-grossing comedy film ever in the UK and was based on the TV series, which ran on E4 between 2008 and 2010.

Despite its success, Blake Harrison, who plays Neil in the show, says the sequel was unexpected.

"We never thought the second film was going to happen," says Harrison.

"It's because of them [the fans] going on at us for three years to make a second movie that it is happening and hopefully they'll enjoy it."

Bird adds that there's "0% chance, unfortunately" of them coming together for a third film.

The actors, who now have a combined age of 114, say that playing their roles for so long means they've become close, almost too close.

"I think we're all relatively comfortable now," says Harrison.

"We're fully intimate with each other's bodies on a regular basis, so it's fine."

"Yeah, there are no secrets any more," adds James Buckley, who plays Jay.
