S Club 7: What did they do when the pop curtain fell?
- Published
Admit it, you can hum at least one S Club 7 song right?
Don't Stop Movin' to the funky funky beat? There ain't no party like an S Club party? Reach for the Stars?
You probably don't like the thought but S Club 7 dominated your childhood.
They were huge. They had 11 top five singles and three platinum albums.
They were all over your TV, starring in four series all about them and even a movie, Seeing Double.
They even got two Brit Awards, for best breakthrough act and best single for Don't Stop Movin'.
But when the S Club bubble burst in 2002 and the band became a childhood memory, what did their members go on to do? (PS - we're talking about them because they've re-formed for Children In Need)
Tina's doing her dance
Tina Barrett was the oldest member of S Club 7 and featured on a cover version of Rod Stewart's Do You Think I'm Sexy in 2004.
It was released by a men's magazine, featuring alongside the pop might of Atomic Kitten and Liberty X.
In 2012 she released a single called Fire but it failed to chart.
She's worked on stage too, appearing in productions of Beauty and the Best and The Wizard Of Oz
Jon's looking for romance
Jon Lee moved away from pop and went into musical theatre, having a long run as Marius in the West End version of Les Miserables.
More recently he's played Aladdin and starred in Jersey Boys.
In 2008, he got a part in a British film called Telstar featuring (among others) Kevin Spacey, Jimmy Carr and James Corden.
Before S Club, Jon was a child star who got roles in EastEnders and the stage version of Oliver.
Paul's getting down on the floor
Paul Cattermole sent shockwaves through the world of pop when he left the band in 2002 - to pursue his nu-metal roots.
He formed Skua with his classmates at school in St Albans, Hertfordshire, in 1992.
The band has never charted but still gig to this day, most recently at a bar in their hometown.
However, he can multi-task.
The lure of S Club was obviously too much and Paul returned to the band in 2008, performing as the imaginatively titled S Club 3 with Jo and Bradley.
While Hannah's screaming out for more (ooh hoo!)
After S Club, Hannah Spearritt chased fame in Hollywood, getting roles in horror film Seed Of Chucky and Agent Cody Banks 2.
Her most popular on-screen role was as Abby Maitland in five series of dinosaur TV show Primeval.
She recently appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of her latest movie, The Goob.
Wanna see Bradley swing?
Bradley McIntosh tried to keep the flame alive in 2006 when he joined a who's who of pop royalty.
As part of MTV reality show, Totally Boyband, he was part of a new group called Upper Street.
It featured Dane Bowers, Lee from Steps, Jimmy from 911 and Danny Wood from New Kids On The Block (stellar line up right?).
Their success was short-lived after their debut single went in at number 35 in the UK Singles Chart.
He then joined Jo and Paul in S Club 3.
Wanna see Rachel do her thing?
Rachel Stevens had the most successful solo career of any S Clubber, with five top 10 tracks in the Official Singles Chart.
Her debut single, Sweet Dreams My LA Ex, went straight in at number two in 2003.
In 2004, Some Girls was the official Sport Relief single.
She came second on the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnering Vincent Simone.
Stevens has recently become a coach on the Irish version of the Voice.
Then we got Jo, she's got the flow
Jo O'Meara launched a solo career in 2005 and her single What Hurts The Most reached number 14.
It was her only single though, before she decided to revive her career on Celebrity Big Brother.
The decision proved to be ill-fated. She and fellow housemates Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd were criticised for their treatment of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
In 2008, she hooked up with Paul and Bradley and performed at small scale gigs around the UK as S Club 3.
