BBC Radio 1 will return to Ibiza this August for its twentieth year of live broadcasts and events on the island.

Yep, twenty years of sun, sea, sand and tunes.

The network will be there for three days from Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August.

"It really is a special place, there's something about it that makes people keep coming back every single year," said Annie Mac as she announced the plans.

"I've been lucky enough to be going for years now, I've had some incredible memories.

"My second ever show on Radio 1 was a live broadcast from Ibiza, it was incredible."

The station first broadcast from the island in July 1995 - with an Essential Mix by Nicky Holloway at Manumission at Ku.

A Pete Tong and then a Paul Oakenfold Essential Mix followed in the August and September of that year.

This time around Annie Mac will be joined in Ibiza by Pete Tong and Danny Howard as a part of the celebrations.

"It's going to be bigger and better than it's ever been before," said Annie.

"We are 20 years in Ibiza so we have a lot of reasons to celebrate."

Information on ticketing and the full line-up for the weekend will be revealed on Radio 1 in the coming weeks.
