Caitlyn Jenner says finally being able to "be herself" has been "liberating".

Answering questions from fans on her blog, she says a recent trip away with friends made her realise "she can never go back".

"I packed for the first time as just Caitlyn, nobody else, the first time I've ever done that," she says.

"I was gone for five days and had such a fantastic experience with all of these girls who have all been through the same thing."

She also says she was sent so many questions for her latest blog post "The Future Looks Bright" that her site crashed.

Caitlyn, who used to be known as Bruce, confirmed her plans to transition into a woman in an interview in April.

Asked what had given her the courage to do it, she says: "I had all of my diversions, sports… this… that… married… family.

"But after 65 years, here I was right back with the same problems that I had when I was 10 years old and I had to finally do something about that."

She adds: "It's been both eye opening and difficult to see first-hand what so many members of the transgender community have had to go through just to be themselves."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star now wants to raise awareness to try to make it easier for others in the same situation.

But she says she's personally had an "incredibly positive" experience.

"I knew that my transition would get some response, but I certainly never expected all of this. I've met so many accepting people."

Caitlyn appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in March, photographed as a woman for the first time.

Her new reality show starts in America later this month.
