One Direction's Louis Tomlinson 'set to become a dad'

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is set to become a dad, according to reports.

People magazine and The Sun say the singer is expecting a child with US-based stylist Briana Jungwirth.

A mutual friend of the pair told People: "Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother.

"It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer."

A spokesperson from the company which handles 1D's PR declined to comment to Newsbeat.

Louis split from his long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder in March this year.

The last tweet from Louis' account on 13 July talks about "where every sick child can see a doctor".

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts, with the #OhnoLouis the top trend globally on Twitter.

Some were quick to photoshop the band as babies with Louis and Harry Styles as the parents.

Some fans also said that he should name his child "Zaughty," which is adding the names of former member Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy together, "because it doesn't exist".

While others showed how unhappy they were about the news, deeming it "not true", and using words we can't publish.

While others said the fandom "has no chill".

It was back in March that Zayn announced he was leaving the band.

Soon after both Louis and Zayn had words over Twitter, along with Naughty Boy, but Louis said there was no real beef between them all.

This week though, it would appear that Zayn had fallen out with Naughty Boy after a tweet from his account called him "a fat joke".

But Newsbeat has been unable to verify with Zayn's account was hacked.
