The stars of the NWA biopic have told Newsbeat certain events weren't left out of the film on purpose.
Straight Outta Compton has come under criticism for not including parts of Dr Dre's personal life including accusations of being abusive towards women.
Some say their experiences are not fully addressed in the film.
But O'Shea Jackson Jr, who plays Ice Cube in the film, says it wasn't deliberate to leave out any difficult scenes form the past.
"It's impossible to fit 10 years into two and a half hours," he said.
"Everything that is in the film are things that fall under NWA. They didn't have enough time to go towards everyone's individual stories."
Newsbeat's entertainment reporter Nesta McGregor also spoke to Jason Mitchell, who plays Eazy-E in the movie about taking on the roles of some of the most influential names in hip-hop.
