Alex: I knocked myself out once. I was walking on stage and there was a low hanging speaker and I didn't see it. I walked straight into it and fell between the stage and the barricade. I whacked my head open and fully blacked out before snapping straight back into it. I started doing the song again before I realised I was bleeding. The best part is there's video footage of it and Zack just laughs.

Jack tweeted that he once fell into band member Rian's drums., external

We played the Leeds Cockpit in winter and it got really hot. Gwil [the band's former guitarist] took his trousers off and played the rest of the gig in his long johns. It was winter. Leeds is cold in the winter. To be fair though, Gwil wore them most of the year. It was one of his eccentricities. But regardless, he must have been embarrassed as he had no choice. It was boiling hot.

Felix: We supported Ben Folds years ago at the arena in Birmingham. We were right scruffbags and for some reason I was playing in my socks. Anyway, when the gig ended someone in the front row shouted, "What's your name?" So I just shouted back - to the whole of the Birmingham NIA - "FELIX!" And he said, "No, your band's name!" Imagine a silent arena of 8,000 people with me stood in my socks. It's been uphill from there.

Foals

Yannis: Most of the embarrassing things happen to Jimmy but I had one really bad show in LA at a place called the El Rey Theatre. I did a slapstick banana skin comedy fall about three or four times during the set. I kind of recouped the first time but the second and third time there was just no coming back. It was disgraceful. Did anyone see that? Oh yes... the whole crowd.

Connor (second from right): I was in Manchester and I got on the podium at the end. Some guy grabbed my foot so I got ready to jump into the crowd. I did it but it was like Moses parting the sea. This guy had my legs so I ended up like a pendulum, swinging and whacking my head and my back on the floor. Eight months later and I'm still visiting a physiotherapist and doing yoga every morning.

Once at a gig someone was talking really loudly on a phone all the way through. Everyone was looking around. It was awful. So I ended up getting a £20 note out of my pocket and asking the gentleman to leave. Which he did.

Mike: We were at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar in Brighton about three years ago. I fell off stage and it broke my bass. It snapped in half.

Ben: You've fallen off, I've fallen up. I fell UP the stage at Glastonbury. You know how you do when you run up stairs too quickly? There wasn't much of a recovery as I had two cans of beer in my hands at the time. It only happened because the smoke machine went off and I couldn't see the stage or the steps... so I jumped.
