What happens to the Syrian refugees coming to the UK?

How will the UK's Syrian refugee resettlement plan work? , external
Prime Minister David Cameron has said the UK will accept up to 20,000 refugees from Syria over the next five years.
They'll be taken from places like Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon where millions of Syrians have fled to escape the conflict in their home country.
Labour don't think the plans go far enough, with other countries like France committing to taking in 24,000 refugees over the next two years.
