Apology after Vicky Pattison dunked on I'm a Celebrity
- Published
A technical fault on last night's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here meant the wrong contestant got plunged into cold dirty water.
Presenter Ant McPartlin had to apologise when Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison was given the loser's punishment despite winning the bushtucker trial.
She was competing in a head-to-head drinking competition against Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter called Cocktails and Screams.
They were trying to be the first to down a drink made from blended camel penis.
The forfeit for losing was to be dropped in to tanks of cold dirty water beneath them.
Reality star Vicky Pattison clearly finished her drink in the fastest time.
Once done she pumped her fists in the air and shouted "I was born to do this."
Presenter Declan Donnelly acknowledged she had won saying "that means Jorgie is getting dunked."
The cameras were fixed on the Hollyoaks' actress but she remained in her seat while viewers heard winner Vicky Pattison plunged into the water off camera.
Presenter Ant McPartlin was initially heard laughing at the mistake and then saying "that was the wrong person."
He went on to apologise: "Lets dunk Jorgie anyway. Get her in there 'cos she lost. And Vicky we do apologise about that."
A second apology followed.
When approached by Newsbeat, ITV didn't explain what exactly went wrong with last night's task.
This latest setback follows the departure of Spencer Matthews from the programme. The Made In Chelsea star apparently left on medical grounds earlier.
Other celebrities featuring in this show are Union J's George Shelley, boxer Chris Eubank and Dragons' Den's Duncan Bannatyne.
Last year saw ex-World Superbike Carl Fogarty crowned King of the Jungle.
