Axwell has told Newsbeat he'd "never" rule out a Swedish House Mafia reunion.

The DJ was speaking ahead of Oliver Heldens and Paul Van Dyk joining him on the bill for Electric Daisy Carnival.

Axwell ^ Ingrosso and Avicii were also previously confirmed on the line-up.

Despite touring with one of his producer supergroup co-founders, Sebastian Ingrossoo, Axwell he says it'll take more than a festival pay cheque for Steve Angello to join them.

"Obviously it's a great thing that we have done and we loved every minute of it," he added.

"But right now we're enjoying this new ride and I think Steve is probably the same.

"I think we're all in our happy places right now.

"Having said that it would be stupid of me to say never [to a reunion]."

Festivals like Coachella have become well-known for reuniting groups for headline sets, with Guns N' Roses and LCD Soundsystem topping the bill this year.

"Maybe one day something will happen inside of us that says 'boom'," Axwell explained.

"But it's more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival."

Electric Daisy Carnival will be Axwell ^ Ingrosso's first UK set since a sold out show at London's Alexandra Palace in June last year.

"For us it was the first country we came to from Sweden, Radio 1 had a big influence on us growing up.

"That's why it's always close to our hearts when we get to play a show like this. It'll be something special."

Other additions to the line-up, external include DJ EZ and Lost Frequencies and Galantis, who had two top ten UK singles last year.

Goldie, Caspa & Rusko and Roni Size are also on the bill.

Despite having released a single, Dream Bigger which features Pharrell, Axwell said he's "not sure" about how far away the release of a full Axwell ^ Ingrosso album is.

"In the last six months, people's attention span for albums has decreased to maybe just a week - unless it's a stand out album.

"So that's made us think is an album is the right way to go."

"We're just enjoying making music and putting it out, there's no major scheme."

"We're just working with our old friends. We've got Vincent (Pontare) and Salem (Al Fakir) who sang on Sun Is Shining, On My Way and Something.

"It's more about the songs right now."
