The boys from Kurupt FM have taken over the Radio 1 Live Lounge in Clara Amfo's show.

The pirate radio DJs made their names on BBC Three's People Just Do Nothing show - a behind-the-scenes look at "the second most popular pirate radio station in West London".

MC Grindah and DJ Beats from the crew took over for 45 minutes at midday.

Radio 1 tweeted "it's going to be chaos." , external

And it was.

The madness they brought to the studio split opinion.

Ste tweeted: @BBCR1 that was the maddest #LiveLounge ever! But in a good way!, external

Woody tweeted: funniest #livelounge ever, external

But not everyone was so impressed.

Hollie tweeted: How awkward and awful was that live lounge! Felt sorry for poor @claraamfo she done well @BBCR1 #LiveLounge, external

Tom tweeted: @BBCR1 shocking #livelounge worst one ever, external

However it's probably fair to give the last word on how it went to the Kurupt FM boys.

Radio 1 tweeted a link to it: Hold tight and watch @KuruptFM takeover the Live Lounge - it's not for the faint-hearted, external

This is not the first time Kurupt FM has been in the Radio 1 and 1Xtra studios.

They took over MistaJam's 1Xtra show on 10 September.

Everyone reckons this is the appearance that re-energised Craig David's career.

David told Newsbeat: "I didn't expect it to turn into what it turned into.

"It was too much energy in there. Big Narstie was doing his thing with Stormzy coming through and Shola Ama sounded amazing.

"When I did the Fill Me In combo it was just something I thought would sound cool on the drop but then people went nuts for it."

People Just Do Nothing was BBC Three's first iPlayer-only programme.

In November the BBC Trust approved proposals to move BBC Three online as part of cost-cutting moves at the corporation.

On 16 February BBC Three will become more of a promotional channel letting people know about content that can be found online.

The BBC Three TV channel will go dark in the weeks following.
