Kesha has thanked fans on Instagram for supporting her in her case against her producer Dr Luke.

The singer is accusing Dr Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, of sexually and emotionally abusing her.

The post comes after a judge told the star on Friday she can't leave her contract with Dr Luke and Sony Music.

Alongside a selfie, she wrote: "A million times over and forever thank you. The support I have received has left my face swollen from tears."

Dr Luke has never been charged with any offence in connection with Kesha's claims, which date back to 2005 when she was 18.

He denies the allegations, which he said were "horrendous and untrue". He also says he's worried the claims are damaging his reputation.

Several Hollywood stars have lent their support to the 28-year-old star after the court ruling - like Taylor Swift, who donated $250,000 (£176,000) to Kesha to help her pay for legal fees.

The hashtag #FreeKesha began trending on Twitter and other stars have also backed her including Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato.

Lena Dunham also wrote an article, external for her e-newsletter Lenny Letter, saying the court ruling made her feel "actually sick" and showed how the American legal system "continues to hurt women".
