Adele at Brits: I publicly support Kesha
- Published
Adele has publicly shown her support for Kesha while accepting the Brit award for British female.
She said: "I'd like to take a quick second to thank my management and my record label for embracing the fact that I'm a woman and being encouraged by it.
"I'd also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha."
Kesha is accusing producer Dr Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, of sexually and emotionally abusing her.
Other female stars to openly back Kesha include Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato.
Taylor Swift donated $250,000 (£176,000) as a "show of support".
Dr Luke has never been charged with any offence in connection with Kesha's claims, which date back to 2005 when she was 18.
He denies the allegations, which he said were "horrendous and untrue". He also says he's worried the claims are damaging his reputation.
Adele beat Amy Winehouse, Florence + the Machine, Jess Glynne and Laura Marling to win best British female.
"To come back after so long away and be so warmly received is really lovely. Thank you so much," she told the crowd.
"To all the other girls that are nominated thank you for letting me be in your company, you're all incredible you're all amazing and it's a privilege to be alongside you."
