Daisy Ridley issues warning on the pressure for perfection on social media

Daisy Ridley has issued a warning on Instagram about the pressure to appear perfect all the time on social media.
The British actress says that self-esteem is a huge issue for everyone.
Daisy, who plays Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Episode VIII, posted her message with a photo which has "I woke up like this #nofilter #nomakeup" written on it.
Next to that is a caption that says "3 of these statements aren't true".

She says she put up the picture because she's not usually happy posting selfies without putting on make-up first.
She said: "Social media is great but also a bit scary cause what people post is the most filtered, most carefully chosen and cleverly edited moments of their lives.
"I have a trainer urging me on in workouts and don't include all the times I say 'I can't do it' and I don't smile all the time but I like to share the pictures where I am.
"But I actually do love myself, I try to think good thoughts always and am surrounded by the most wonderful people, so I'm keeping it balanced (like the Force, obvs)."
Last month, Daisy Ridley said she wouldn't apologise for her body shape.
She responded to an Instagram post about her Star Wars character, which criticised how thin she looked in the film.
"I can't believe the unrealistic expectations I'm setting for young girls," a speech bubble read. "Don't they know real women have curves?"
"'Real women' are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave. I am a 'real woman' like every other woman in this world."
In January, ChildLine said that the pressure for the "perfect online life" was leading to a nation of "deeply unhappy" teenagers.
The charity said many were dealing with fears and worries that didn't exist 30 years ago, particularly around trying to look confident on social media.
