Foo Fighters fan seeks cash to 'buy' Dave Grohl

Forget shivering in the cold at the back of a concert venue to meet your idol, a Texas man has set up an online campaign to buy Dave Grohl.
Rock 108 radio host Frank Pain is hoping to raise $35,000 in order to "hang out and high five" the Foo Fighters singer, suggesting he has no long term intentions for the grunge icon.
"I'm his biggest fan and figured I can round up enough scratch to purchase him so we can hang out and high five and shit.
"Heck, I may give him a bro-hug or two as well," writes Pain on his GoFundMe page., external
He raised $433 in the first day of his campaign after setting up the page on 3 May 2016, leaving him considerably short of his target.
"I'm not 100% the amount I'm asking for will buy him. Hell, I'm not even sure if it's legal to purchase another human being without being some central part of a 20/20 TV special. But, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try, right?" he added.
"Since everyone has their hands out these days, I thought I'd join the party - primarily because I don't have that kind of scratch."
Frank admits he has yet to investigate the legality of buying humans, but already has a plan B for any cash raised.
"If it is indeed illegal to purchase another human [or if Mr Grohl isn't up for it] then I'll spend the money on beer because Dave seems like the kind of person that would want me to drink beer."
Frank, or "The Painman" as he calls himself, is a long time fan of Grohl, having previously challenged him to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August 2014.

Grohl publicly accepted Zac Brown's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge the same month, challenging Jack Black, John Travolta and Stephen King to take part in the viral charity campaign, during a video inspired by the movie of King's 1974 novel, Carrie.
Pain says the media interest in his GoFundMe campaign has left him feeling "extremely humbled", telling followers on Twitter, external: "This is the most fun I've had in a very long time."
