Gilmore Girls is returning on 25th November.

That's when fans will be throwing sickies, settling into the sofa and heading back to Stars Hollow.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will debut all four 90-minute episodes at the same time on Netflix.

It is expected to pick up where the show left off nine years ago.

If it passed you by, you can binge-watch all seven seasons.

Or just read this article. This is the gist.

Mum and daughter, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore live in a charming small town in America.

The show follows their charming relationship, and their charming family and friends.

They say lots of wordy things in a charming way.

Get it?

CHARMING.

But somehow, it managed to stay just the right side of twee and cutesy.

Imagine it as the TV equivalent of a relaxing warm bath or a really good hug.

The new trailer pretty much sums it up.

It has lots of whimsical shots of Stars Hollow.

Then it cuts to Lorelai musing on whether Amy Schumer would like her or not.

What actually happened?

Honestly, not very much.

Lorelai had an on-off relationship with cafe owner Luke who always wore a baseball cap backwards.

ALWAYS!

Rory dated a nice boy, a bad boy and a rich boy.

They had friends, frenemies and family strife.

The residents of Stars Hollow were called things like Babette and Miss Patty.

They popped up regularly and we gently laughed at/with them.

The infamous season seven

If you ask a true fan about the seventh and final season, chances are they get very angry and start muttering under their breath.

Show runner Amy Sherman-Palladino had left and some viewers were unhappy about the tone and some plot twists.

In the end though, Lorelai and Luke got together (again).

Rory turned down Logan's proposal and went off to work on Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

So who is returning?

Almost all of the original cast are coming back - including Melissa McCarthy as Lorelai's best friend Sookie.

Edward Herrmann, who played Lorelai's dad died in 2014.

ALL of Rory's exes are back: troubled Jess, would-be fiance Logan and her first love Dean. Awks.

Lorelai's love life might be tangled too.

Rory's dad is in the revival.

Surely he won't cause trouble for Lorelai and Luke?

What's happened in the last 9 years?

From the publicity photos, it looks like Lorelai and Luke (Luke-elai?) are still loved up.

Luke is STILL wearing that baseball cap the wrong way around.

Rory is a teacher, but apparently is feeling a bit underwhelmed about how her life has turned out.

We know the revival will be four 90 minute episodes.

Each one will take place across a different season.
