Lil Wayne mixtape 'inspires' Clinton speech say fans

Fans of Lil Wayne have been speculating that his lyrics may have inspired a major speech by Hillary Clinton.

"When there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit," she told the Democratic convention.

She was speaking after accepting the Democratic Party nominee to be president.

The rapper's followers have taken to Twitter to suggest that she may have been influenced by No Ceilings and The Sky's the Limit.

Stephen Thomas tweeted: "No Ceilings" "Sky's the limit"...I see you, Hillary, dropping Lil' Wayne references.

Charlamagne Tha God tweeted : When it's no ceilings, Sky is the limit" -Hillary Clinton with a bar.

Some went further and suggested that other rappers may have been behind the line.

Chris tweeted: Where there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit. So Hill is just quoting Lil' Wayne & Biggie now?

But others on Twitter were quick to point out that maybe it was just the use of a very common phrase.

Hillary Clinton was referring to the fact that by being the first woman to lead a major party's bid for the White House, she was breaking down barriers - "smashing the glass ceiling".

I think people have been saying that "the sky's the limit" since before Lil Wayne's song? But idk that's just me.

There has been no comment from Hillary Clinton or her team but Lil Wayne has been getting involved.

He told reporters he was "cool with it" but admitted he had not seen the speech yet.

He later posted this message of support for the Democrats candidate for president.
