The 'frustrating but exciting' life of a Frank Ocean fan
- Published
Frank Ocean still hasn't released his new album Boys Don't Cry.
After years of speculation and a week of watching a man doing woodwork, the follow-up to 2012's Channel Orange isn't out.
Whether you like his approach or not, like Beyonce and Radiohead before him, Frank Ocean has everyone talking about him without saying a word.
"It's been exhausting but exciting trying to find him," said Michael Raya who runs Team Ocean Daily on Twitter.
The 21-year-old started the account to tweet out Frank Ocean lyrics, but as the singer became more elusive Michael's work-load increased.
"It's been an adventure trying to keep up with him and what he's been doing.
"There's a lot of fake information out there and people aren't really happy when you put out fake information.
"They don't really get mad at you, they get mad at Frank."

Despite picking up 14,000 followers, Michael said because Mr Ocean is so secretive the account hasn't become a full time job.
"There have been months where there's just nothing.
"My page is called Frank Ocean Daily but sometimes there's no news to post because the dude is just a ninja."
In the last week though, after a mysterious video appeared on Frank's website, things have been more busy.
"I've been on my phone constantly as soon as the stream went up.
"I didn't go to sleep until eight in the morning out of fear I was going to miss something.
"Definitely been exhausting. It's exciting though because at the end of the day I'm a huge fan and I just want to hear his music as much as everyone else."
Although admitting to having a computer "full of random bookmarks" as part of tracking down "the hardest Pokemon to catch of all" Michael explained his hard work has paid off a few times.
"I've had a couple of exclusives.
"His ex girlfriend was in the studio with him and she posted a John Lennon cover like he did on Snapchat.
"I ripped it, I posted it and she was not happy that I posted it.
"As soon as anything Frank goes up it's usually deleted within an hour or two because I think management want to keep him off the internet.
"So sometimes you would just find the breadcrumbs.
After several promised release dates came and went, Michael said he had started to "lose hope in July" but added that he still wants to make the most of the "event" whenever it happens.
"We've got to make the most of it because we never know when we're going to get Frank again."
