Gavin James: He's definitely not Ed Sheeran
- Published
"My head is quite big and his is normal sized."
According to Irish singer Gavin James, that's how any person on the street should be able to tell the difference between him and Ed Sheeran.
It's not hard, the only similarity is the ginger hair.
But just before Ed came on stage at Dublin's Croke Park in 2015, a group of girls were convinced that Gavin was their main man.
"They thought I was him - while he was on stage behind them. His face was on a massive screen in the background. But I just went with it and had my photo taken with them."

Gavin supported Ed on tour last year after he was asked by the singer himself in the pub.
"I met him (Ed Sheeran) in Dublin. We hung out a bit. One night he shouted across the bar 'do you want to support me at Croke Park?', so I shouted back 'definitely'."

The gigs were the biggest of his life. Croke Park is the Irish equivalent of Wembley Stadium.
"Ten minutes before I went on stage and I got so nervous, I had to have a sit down.
"The whole family came to that gig. Dad was a legend. He got so dressed up for it and looked so slick."
Gavin regularly Instagrams photos of himself and his dad, who he says looks like Santa. , external
Croke Park was the highlight of a manic year for the 25-year-old.
He's taken his single Bitter Pill around the world and has appeared on major US chat shows like Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
"They're very friendly over there (the US). James Corden is lovely and you feel like you've met him before.
"But maybe I just watched a lot of Gavin and Stacey."
Even though Bitter Pill is only just making waves in the UK now, Gavin has been promoting the single and album for the last year.
He says it's the "last break up song" he ever wants to write because he's now "sick of them".
"The song is about this girl I was seeing. I went on tour for a long time and I broke it off. It was too hard to FaceTime. I tried to rekindle it when I got back but she gave me the cold shoulder."
His debut album Bitter Pill came out in Ireland in December 2015 which means he's starting to get songs together for his follow-up.
Except, many of them may have been lost forever.
"I'm always composing stuff and I use the memos function on my phone to write everything. I had to get it fixed and all my memos from the past two years were deleted.
"Usually the good ones stay in my head though."
