New Star Wars film title revealed

The official title of Star Wars: Episode VIII has been announced: The Last Jedi.

In a statement on the official website, film-makers said: "We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy.

"In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI."

Episode 8 - The Last Jedi will be released in December.

There's no trailer yet, but Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kenndy hinted there'll be one out in the spring.

Cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels and Lupita Nyong'o will be returning for Episode 8.

It will also feature the late Carrie Fisher as filming finished before her death in December last year.
