Brit Award nominee Christine & The Queens isn't the jealous type.

In fact, she's celebrating the rivals in her category for each representing a different aspect of being a women - from "goddess" to "rebel".

The French star, real name Heloise Letissier, is up against Beyonce, Solange, Sia and Rihanna at this year's ceremony.

She told Newsbeat on the Brits red carpet that she feels like a "proud outsider" in the category.

"Beyonce is there to be a goddess. This is her thing: she's there to be adored and she's properly perfect and poised and this is why we love her," she said.

"Rihanna has a more rebel, macho side and this why we love her.

"We see different facets of a woman in this whole category; we see many ways of being a woman."

As for the type of woman she represents, she said: "My way is a bit more hesitant like a question mark."

She said even being nominated in the international female category was "kind of winning".

"If you look at my team-mates on that category, they are all really powerful, are in charge, have huge careers and huge achievements," she said.

"I feel I'm the beginner, the proud outsider just invited to the table."

Christine hopes to find time to thank Katy Perry for supporting her career, after discovering she had previously attended one of her gigs in the US, she told Newsbeat.

"I know she went to some of my shows in LA last year so I'd gladly see her, thank her for the support and say to her that she is amazing," she says.

And, like everyone else at The Brits, she also hoped to bump into Skepta.

"I'm going to try and find where Skepta's table is," she said.

"I'm going to try and photobomb him the whole evening."

So keep an eye on Skepta's Instagram page for an excited French woman in the background.
