Ed Sheeran is praised for serenading dying girl

The brother of a teenage girl who lost her battle with cystic fibrosis has spoken of how Ed Sheeran serenaded her moments before she died.
Aidan Priestley says the singer sang 15-year-old Triona's favourite song over the phone, as she lay in her hospital bed in Dublin.
The teen's dying wish was to hear her favourite pop star sing Little Bird.
Sheeran had heard about Triona's situation after a social media campaign, #SongForTri, caught his eye.

Triona's brother said: "I just remember the day.
"We were in this small little ICU room.
"There was myself, my brothers, our partners, my parents, Triona's godfather, his wife and the hospital staff.
"Triona was in a huge bed, covered with tubes and machines, a little box window ahead of her on top.
"My brother Colm left the room but he returned then and he was on the phone.
"He just says 'I'm going to put you on loudspeaker quickly' and clicks it and we hear Ed Sheeran."

"He says: 'Hi Triona, I hear you're a big fan.' He heard that her favourite song is Little Bird and he begins to play and the guitar comes through.
"He plays the whole song. We tell him very quickly thanks very much and that we have to go.
"Then we hang up on him and the doctor lifts the stethoscope to tell us her heart has stopped."
Triona died in 2014, but Adrian has only just told people about the singer's gesture.
At the time Ed tweeted his respects.
"Rest in peace Triona. So heartbreaking.", external
