It is the least prestigious of England's cup competitions and got off to a dodgy start under new sponsors.

The draw for the first round of next season's Carabao Cup - or English Football League cup - was streamed live.

It broadcast on various platforms including the EFL website and Facebook.

The draw itself took place in Bangkok, Thailand, where the competition's new sponsors, energy drink company Carabao, are based.

Unfortunately there were a few teething problems, including no sound for some people watching.

However the most embarrassing slip up saw Charlton Athletic being drawn twice.

First they were drawn against Exeter City and then later against Cheltenham Town.

AFC Wimbledon were also wrongly recorded as being at home to Swindon - the Dons were drawn at home to Brentford whilst Swindon will be away to Norwich.

And Forest Green were listed as being away to Wolves, who were in fact drawn at home to Yeovil.

Ex Chelsea and Arsenal world cup winner Emmanuel Petit helped out with the draw - fitting as he made three appearances in the competition in 1997 - 1998.

The 35 ties will be regionalised (north and south) to minimise travelling time for supporters and take place in the week commencing 7 of August.

Arguably the most high-profile team involved are Sunderland, who travel to Bury.

The majority of Premier League teams will join the competition from Round Two although those competing in European competitions will join in Round Three.
