'Trump should be more aggressive on social media'

"If I was the one writing his tweets, I would be more aggressive, I'd call them out more."
This is the view of 25-year-old Republican, Andres Holliday from San Antonio in Texas.
Andres and two other young Texans have told Newsbeat their views on Trump's presidency so far, including his use of social media.
Andres, Jamie Mathis and Laura Pradia are all under 30 and all voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 US election.
How do you think he's done so far?
Jamie: I think he has impressed a lot of people with how professional and presidential he has been. Policy wise he is trying to do a good job.
Laura: I think he is doing especially well, his support has been growing a lot with the grassroots of the Republican party.
Andres: He has a very large responsibility to make sure the agenda is implemented, now is that happening? I don't know, I don't think it is the way it should be.
What are your thoughts on his use of Twitter?
Andres: It showcases his strategy. Does he need to change his approach? I don't think so at all. I think what he's doing is exactly what he's supposed to be doing. If I was the one writing his tweets, I would be more aggressive, I'd call them out more. The problem is the media can no longer control the president.
Jamie: The press and media can say whatever they want and we have the right to free speech and I don't think that should not apply to President Trump. If he wants to respond to criticisms or announce positive things that he feels he's done, I think he should be allowed.
Laura: The no filter approach is uncommon but I think that he's never really been a very traditional politician. I don't think it's surprising that it's garnered this much media attention considering the fact that he's very frank.
What about these Tweets in particular?
Donald Trump sent a tweet referring to news presenters as 'crazy' and dumb'., external

Andres: He should've [said it] and we need to continue to out these people. News is no longer about giving us information but in fact it's more of a narrative driving machine. He has a platform to call these people out.
Laura: I believe it's very uncalled for, it was very rude and showed a lack of taste.

Jamie: It doesn't really offend me, President Trump has a personality, he has a sense of humour, people knew who he was when they voted for him.
Andres: That was pretty funny, I mean there's worse things, seriously, why don't we talk about what that lady [Kathy Griffin] did with his head chopped off.
Your thoughts on the future?
Andres: I support the president and I support this movement, but Donald Trump is also replaceable. We are not just about him, it's about what we want done and what our movement is all about, and that movement is going to come to fruition because we will make it happen, with or without Donald Trump.
Jamie: Most important to me is jobs, I already see that more jobs are being created. I'd love to see a better healthcare programme and of course everyone wants lower taxes.
Laura: I definitely think there is room for growth. I do think that his image will definitely affect how people view America, I hope they won't base their opinions entirely on one person.
