Astronauts to watch new Star Wars film in space

NASA sources have reportedly confirmed that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is going to be streamed to astronauts on the International Space Station.

The film is set to be projected on a movie screen far, far away after having its European premiere in London on Tuesday 12th December.

Which means the crew, who are currently orbiting Earth, won't need to avoid any spoilers.

It sounds like it's going to be out of this world.

With hype about the new Star Wars film still very much in circulation, fans have been avoiding spoilers left, right and centre.

But, if you're in orbit hundreds of miles above the surface of the Earth, you're going to be hard pushed to find a screening.

Or so you might think.

NASA are reportedly making arrangements to get the film into outer space so the astronauts currently on board the International Space Station don't miss out.

Spaceflight reporter Robin Seemangal tweeted the news, saying: ''I received confirmation from Disney and NASA sources that the crew aboard the International Space Station will be screening Star Wars: The Last Jedi.''

Apparently the International Space Station is already kitted out with a laptop and projector, the crew just need a digital copy of the film (and maybe some popcorn) to fulfil a truly out of this world cinema experience.
