Region Profile

The Central Scotland region has nine constituencies - Airdrie and Shotts; Coatbridge and Chryston; Cumbernauld and Kilsyth; East Kilbride; Falkirk East; Falkirk West; Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse; Motherwell and Wishaw and Uddingston and Bellshill.

The Central Scotland region features Falkirk West which is home to popular tourist attraction the Falkirk Wheel which opened in 2002.

At the 2011 Holyrood election three seats were won by the SNP, three were taken by Labour and one went to the Conservatives.
