Developing the first average female crash dummy

Dr Astrid Linder is leading the development of the first dummy modelled on the body of the average woman.

Currently most car crash dummies are based on the average man's build and weight.

This is despite women representing about half of all drivers and being more prone to injury in like-for-like accidents.
