Welcome to my home on the BBC News website.
I spend most of my working day reporting online about everything relating to home affairs - from policing and law, to immigration and security.
I'm going to continue doing that but we're also going to do something slightly different with this page. Breaking news is at the heart of what we do here and so this is predominantly going to be the home for my tweets, external on the subjects that I cover.
Twitter and this page allow me to quickly file breaking news and updates on stories, which I then often follow up with more detailed analysis.

I hope it's useful - forgive me if I lapse occasionally into a headline style last seen on the Day Today - news can get a bit manic.
I'll also link to relevant interesting stories published online by other colleagues around the BBC and beyond, as well as links to audio and video too - but no YouTube clips of skateboarding dogs (unless they are skateboarding police dogs of course).
