Councillors approve Edinburgh tram U-turn
Councillors in Edinburgh have made a U-turn on the route of the city's beleaguered trams project.
They voted last week to end the line at Haymarket, more than a mile short of the city centre.
But when the Scottish government threatened to withhold funding, many councillors said they would support the longer route, and the council has now voted in favour of it.
The tram system is millions of pounds over budget and at least three years late.
