Osborne to reveal new economy plans

The Chancellor, George Osborne, will try to convince the markets and voters that his austerity measures are working.

Later, he will confirm plans to tackle youth unemployment and boost the housing market in an update on the Government's plans for the economy.

But independent figures are likely to downgrade prospects for growth.
