Grahame Morris MP: 'Shock' over Horden shootings
Questions are being raised about why a man who killed three women at a house in Horden, Peterlee, was allowed to have a licence to own six guns.
It is thought that 42-year-old Michael Atherton shot his partner, her sister and her niece, before turning the gun on himself. Three other people escaped from an upstairs window.
The Labour MP for Easington, Grahame Morris, said people in the community were ''very much in shock''.
He added that the killings raised many questions about the keeping of guns and the awarding of licences.
