Fuel prices: 'Cut duty to boost economy'
Petrol prices have hit a record average high of 140.20 pence per litre of unleaded, according to industry analysts Experian Catalist.
Meanwhile, the chancellor confirmed this week that a 3p per litre fuel duty rise will take effect on 1 August, drawing criticism from the motoring industry.
FairFuelUK is one of several organisations that have called for the planned rise to be scrapped.
Peter Carroll is from the pressure group and, speaking to BBC News, he argued that such a move would help to create jobs and boost Britain's economy.
