Police officers question Home Secretary Theresa May on pay
The Home Secretary addressed the Police Federation conference in Bournemouth, amid claims she was on the brink of destroying the service.
The speech came as forces in England and Wales are experiencing budget cuts of 20% and are in line for some of the most radical reforms for 30 years.
Theresa May told officers the government was standing firm and that cuts and reforms were essential.
However she faced strong opposition from members of the audience over pay, including from Sam Roberts of North Wales Police, who asked if Mrs May had "ever told a parent that their child has died", adding "I'm assuming your answer will be 'no'".
