Hundreds of Isle of Wight festival-goers stranded on ferries

Hundreds of people attending the Isle of Wight Festival have been stranded on ferries and become stuck in traffic delays due to flooding.

BBC correspondent Keith Doyle, who is on board one of the stranded ferries, says rain has caused "a mud gridlock on the festival site" meaning passengers were not able to leave the ferry.

He added that along with approximately 500 people stuck on board the ship he was on, there were several other vessels also stranded in the middle of the Solent.

About 65,000 festival-goers are expected at Seaclose Park in Newport during the event which starts on Friday.
