Residents evacuated as severe flooding affects Scotland

Parts of Scotland have been affected by severe flooding, as rivers burst their banks following heavy rainfall across the country.

Emergency services have been dealing with major flooding in the Perthsire village of Comrie, where about 100 homes and 200 people are said to be at risk.

The BBC's James Cook said rising floodwaters were so ferocious that large debris including a fridge freezer were seen being washed along the road.

He said firefighters were trying to clear water from the village as further rainfall had been forecast for Tuesday.
