Snowdon: Climbers queue for more than two hours

There was a queue on the slopes of Snowdon on Bank Holiday Monday.

So many people wanted to climb the Welsh mountain they had to stand in line for a reported two-and-a-half hours.

But Sir Chris Bonington, a British mountaineer, told the Today programme's Evan Davis there are lots of other mountains in the UK that are a lot less busy.

"You don't have to follow the crowd," he said.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 27 August 2013.
