In pictures: Dave Lee Travis's DJ career

Ex-BBC DJ Dave Lee Travis has been convicted of one count of indecent assault and cleared of a second charge. He joined Radio 1 in 1967, and made his debut on the weekly Pop North show which he presented from Manchester.
Travis (at back) was one of several DJs recruited to Radio 1 from pirate station Radio Caroline. Some, including Tony Blackburn (2nd from right), went on to become household names.
When Noel Edmonds left the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in 1978, Travis (fourth left) took over, becoming its third presenter. He was at the helm for two years and adopted the nickname the Hairy Cornflake.
He was a popular radio personality and travelled around the country to present Radio 1 roadshows.
In the 1970s and 80s, Travis appeared on television hosting Top of the Pops. He is pictured here with fellow presenter Peter Powell. Travis even performed on the show himself when he released novelty single Convoy GB in 1976.
He also had a music request programme called A Jolly Good Show which was broadcast on the BBC World Service from 1981 to 2001.
After leaving the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Travis (seated, second left, with other DJs) took over the weekend mid-morning programme which he presented for a decade.
In 1993, he resigned from his Radio 1 show live on air. He said changes being made at the station, which had a new controller, were against his principles.
Travis remained a media personality after his departure from Radio 1 and went on to present shows on other stations including Classic Gold and Magic AM. He also appeared on a music-themed special of The Weakest Link.
When Top of the Pops was broadcast for the final time, Travis (left) was among the line-up of past and present hosts invited to help bid the show farewell.
Travis met Aung San Suu Kyi after she said she had listened to his BBC World Service radio programme while under house arrest in Burma.
