The Queen, political leaders and military veterans have laid wreaths at the Cenotaph on Whitehall - the focal point of Remembrance Day services which have taken place across the country, and abroad.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, 70 years since the D-Day landings and the end of Britain's conflict in Afghanistan.
